Touring Auld Land Syne in January & last Slow Session of the year … tomorrow

Dear folks, delighted to announce that I’ll be playing some Auld Lang Syne shows in Scotland in January. I’m really enjoying relearning the show up here on Lismore and it feels more relevant than ever. One of the lines I ask: “What makes this song stick around?… It marks the end of social gatherings.” Whoof, little did I know how rare that would be today. Each show will mark a precious social gathering, and I hope to see some of you there.

This Wednesday 15th is our last fiddle Slow Session of the year. If you’d like to join us, drop me an email at and I’ll send you the Zoom link and ticket meets.

On an’ on anon it goes… now back on again (November’s monthly update)

Dear folks,

I hope this finds you safe and well. I’m good at breaking rules. Mostly my own. The latest is my decision to leave Facebook, and like a lover, flouncing off, screeching “I’ll never come back”, I’ve found myself, albeit after a couple of spacious weeks, creeping back to check once in a while and now have even put up posts on what’s going on. It’s hilarious how hard it is to leave. The frailty of the human feels real.

On a lighter note, I have a tour of Auld Lang Syne in January! Six gigs so far: Perth, Aberdeenshire, Borders, Dumfries and Galloway – so I’m really looking forward to that (ticket links to follow in the next monthly update). And we have four more Campbell’s Ceilidhs to go this year – hope to see you at one of them.

Lismore’s calling and I shall relocate to the ‘Great Garden’ for the next 6 months, making that my new lifestyle. 6 months here, 6 months there… aaaaannnnd breathe.

Take care,
Mairi x

Campbell’s Ceilidh news

Dear folks,

My What’s on page is looking quite full at the moment! There are the weekly slow sessions which I always look forward to. Plus Campbell’s Ceilidh is starting up again in October – delighted to confirm. Admittedly, most events are still happening online but there’s also now the odd live gig, such as Glad Cafe in November, to look forward to.

Hopefully there’s something in my diary that will be of interest as we move deeper into Autumn. More info below.

Take care,

Mairi x
